Adama Traore struck twice in the closing minutes as Wolves claimed a shock 2-0 win over champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The Spaniard finished off a quick counter-attack 10 minutes from time and then broke away for another in stoppage time to leave Pep Guardiola’s side eight points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side played out a perfect gameplan against Pep Guardiola’s stars, hitting them hard on the counter-attack.
The hero of the day was Adama Traore. The jet-heeled winger was moved into a central striking role and it paid off dividends as he punished City with two cool finishes on the breakaway for a 2-0 win.
The efforts of the Wolves star would have hurt even more for Guardiola because he knows just how talented he is.
Traore came through the youth academy at Barcelona. Whilst Guardiola had already departed the Nou Camp when Traore made his first-team debut, he would have still been known to the City boss during his time at the Catalan sides famed La Masia Academy.
In fact, according to some reports, Guardiola has even tried to sign the Spanish under-21 international on two occasions.
